The role
Provide support in achieving the strategic people objectives in learning and development for the Pensions business, wider business and employers as set out in the HR strategy and L&D plan.  

Provide technical knowledge in the scoping, design and delivery of Pensions business training to enable the team to function effectively.

Support in identifying training requirements for the pensions business and employers, ensuring that suitable training plans are established, implemented and evaluated.

Act as a lead on key strategic programmes, in line with the business plan.

Key responsibilities
Play a key role in supporting deliverables in the L&D joint plan 
Design robust and sustainable training solutions (Classroom, virtual and online) to support the business requirements internally and externally to our clients, bearing in mind our diversity and inclusion programme of work
Deliver all aspects of training pertinent to Pensions Operations, the wider business and employers as required
Manage and provide support to those undertaking educational and job-related qualifications
Liaise with key members of the business to ensure dissemination of information re Scheme Change / development of new products
Support the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of the USS induction progamme
Provide subject matter expertise to the technical aspect of the USS Employer Training and internal pensions related training.
Support the monitoring of effectiveness of training and L&D interventions, particularly within Pensions Operations 
Support and develop the further education programme across the business
Invigilation and management of exam submissions to the PMI
Liaise with PMI on future qualifications and our role in the process 
Support the roll out of CPD accreditation for L&D activity at USS 
Represent the team at meetings and workgroups
Provide encouragement and coaching to colleagues in order to effect L&D activity 
Ensure planned objectives are achieved, monitor results and take appropriate action
Play an active role in continuous improvement activity and how to progress the L&D function

Your experience
A high level, detailed understanding of USS and the Scheme
Capable of interpreting complex rules and regulations / legislation
Ability to undertake detailed research and analysis and design relevant training solutions
Ability to deliver training to varying numbers of individuals / diverse groups of people
Excellent presentation and communication skills, including strong written skills.
Ability to train and coach employees using a variety of training methods
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency. 
Hold a professional pensions qualification or to have proven, extensive experience within USS / DB / DC environment
