The role
Support Change and Finance in the regular planning, reporting and control of Change project and BAU financials
Ensure effective financial governance over project spending
Build and maintain strong relationships between Change and Finance to ensure robust financial management of project budgets and accurate, timely forecasting. 
Identify risks and opportunities within the overall portfolio budget and influence stakeholders to take corrective action
Enhance related processes to ensure projects are managed with financial transparency and accuracy and that correct costs are reflected against the right area in the right period

Key responsibilities
Delivering Results 
Manage project actuals, forecast and budget files to ensure costs are correctly recorded, reported and forecast individually to PMs and collectively to the Project Governance Committee, Finance and Change leaders
Project actuals to be distributed to PMs by close of play WD2
Project forecast to have been agreed and distributed by PGC paper deadline
Project budgets to be updated and recorded as per PGC governance

Managing Relationships 
Build strong relationships with Change, PMO and Finance management to ensure engagement in project finances is maintained and that all appropriate parties are provided with relevant decision making information. Influence stakeholders to use this management information to drive business decisions that are in members’ long term best interests.

Managing Processes & Future Focus
Improve project forecasting and insight such that there is more insight into likely spend outturns and the drivers of variances to budgets and forecasts 
Manage the transition of responsibility of raising POs, approving invoices and related tasks from business area to PM, ensuring financial control and adequate training

Your experience

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Business partnering experience
Strong influencing and relationship management skills 
Strong analytical and presentation skills (Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel/Powerpoint)

Financial services background/experience
Project finance experience in a service sector organisation
